“Sign, sign everywhere a sign….
…blocking out the scenery, breaking my mind. Do this, don’t do that, can’t you read the sign?” Oh yeah, I can read it – it’s in our front yard! As is the custom in our neighborhood, we are proudly sporting a Reagan Choir sign in honor of a school performance tonight – Rachel’s first for Reagan.
The Treble Choir to which she belongs – one of seven for Reagan – harmonized beautifully on Cantale!, Down Low in the Valley and The Cloths of Heaven.

Uhh! To see how freaky, visit her blogs at:

Our much-loved summer babysitter, Catherine, is choir president this year. Lois and I clapped wildly for her and her fellow Soundsations. Good music always boosts my spirits, and singing The Lord Bless You and Keep You to conclude this concert certainly did so. Thank you Lord for thinking about me, I’m alive, and doing fine.
Top Row, Far Left, It’s a Woodworth Fer Shure
The sweet strains of the Manx Lullaby and Al Shlosha d’Varim filled the Bush Middle School Cafetorium (yes, it’s a word) tonight as Lois and the 6th grade Bush Middle School choir performed for an absolutely packed SRO crowd. The 7th and 8th grade choirs did well, too, judging by the applause – but my eyes and ears belonged to the tall 6th grader who performed in the identical spot (top row, far left) that Rachel also occupied for three years.
Lois knew I was going to blog about this. “Mom, tell them it was my first concert, and tell them I rocked!”
It was her first concert. And she ROCKED!
My Big Fat Greek School Play
Comedy and tragedy and even words we speak…..
Soloist Hannah sang “Greece is the Word” to a packed house at Stone Oak Elementary tonight, including her cheering family, former Sunday School teacher Miss Melinda and fiancee, David. Costumed with face made-up by Rachel, she joined dozens of other young performers in Dig It, a musical which explores “the wonders of ancient civilizations.”
And wonders-ful it was! Click here to hear Hannah! Yes, the “whoooooo” you hear at the very end is her mama!
Proverbs 15:1 from the Gospel of Rachel
Actual quotes from Rachel of Casa Woodworth today – yes, the Sabbath -
“I wish I had green eyes. Green eyes are so pretty. Brown eyes look like poop. It’s a wonder I don’t have corn chunks in my eyes.”
“The only reason you have friends is that we pay for them. So that you don’t go off and slit your wrists and then we’d have to clean up the blood.”
“Go somewhere else to cry out your feelings because nobody cares over here. Cry, cry, cry but don’t get the floor wet.”
“A cow had the milk torn from her udder for you.”
“It’s a wonder Mom bought you from that crackhead.”
“When you grow up, you’re going to live in a refrigerator box on the side of the road.”
“You used to be a boy, you know that, don’t you?”
Here’s Rachel’s favorite verse of the bible; the chapter and verse are inscribed on at Stone Oak Elementary.
Proverbs 15:1
A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
Go figure. And while you’re at it, have a nice week.
