Happy New Year!
There are (illicit) fireworks going off all over san Antonio right now, even though it’s only 11:40 p.m.
Rachel says she’s “in da hood” since she’s wearing one.
Julia has helped prepare her first New Year’s Eve dinner – Dad’s lobster’n'feta ravioli, Mom’s Alfredo sauce, grilled tuna, homemade butter, fresh vegetables, and berries with whipped cream for dessert. Lots of Jones soda scattered through the evening – the good kind, in bottles.
We made napkin rings and place cards for tonight’s special dinner, with each place card featuring a customized wish appended by the (sister/parent) creator – fun to read before eating. (“Mom, this was on sale, wasn’t it?” -sigh- Target clearance is a wonderful thing.)
Tomorrow, it’s all work – getting Christmas 2006 taken down and boxed up.
But tonight’s it’s all fun.
If you’d been sitting at our table tonight, I would have written this wish on your place card: “May 2007 bring you as much joy as we had in 2006.”
So Happy 2007! And glad we could share 2006.
Now c’mon – le’ts make some noise!
2007 – Whoo-hoo!
Hey - It's Us!
