Does this mean I’m crazy?
Disney announced the Hannah Montana tour schedule.
Another Hannah began begging for tickets.
Keith and I set calendar reminders for the moment they went on sale, with Keith even joining the fan club to improve our chances, though I guess he may be its only 6’5″ bearded member.
Oh, how we tried for tickets the day they went on sale. Scummy scalpers snapped up almost all of them, much to the disappointment of many pre-teen girls (including ours.) Hannah was inconsolable. We shared several news stories about disappointed fans across the country, legal action pending against scalpers, etc. in an attempt to lessen the sting. No luck.
Keith continued to check Ticketmasters daily, figuring that if enough parents refused to pay extortion money to scalpers, those bloodsuckers would eventually return the tickets.
They did. Yesterday. The day of the concert. About an hour after Hannah texted Keith with, “Dear dad you know i asked for different things for christmas and my birthday but i only want one thing now and that is hannah montana tickets and i want them so bad i could scream and if ticketmaster and mileyworld.com dont have them please try to find them somewhere else because i want to go so bad because i ahve never seen her in person and i love her music.” (Think her thumbs were sore?)
Keith had already been checking Ticketmaster twice hourly yesterday in hope of a release. When he saw ticket availability, he had no time to see if they were good seats, worth the money, nothing.. The infamous two-minute sale timer was ticking, and he grabbed two.
Keith printed off the “will call” confirmation, and – after we arrived home – called Hannah to our room.
We think she was pleased. It was so hard to tell.

No wrapping, no ribbon, and it’s not December 1st - but Happy Birthday, Hannah Marie!
The two of them scurried off to the AT&T Center within 10 minutes of our arrival home from work. And yes, it was a magical evening, albeit a loud one. Hannah was one of scores who requested earplugs from the on-site clinic.

The Best of Both Worlds- Sing It, baby!
On our way home yesterday – Ticketmaster confirmation clutched tightly – Keith asked me, “Does this make me crazy?”
I replied, “No. It makes you a dad.”
You get the best of both worlds
Chill it out, take it slow
Then you rock out the show
You get the best of both worlds
Mix it all together and you know that it’s the best
Hey - It's Us!
