I had the privilege of being on Becky’s Operation Christmas Child packing team. What a blessing! You would not believe ALL the ‘Goodies’ that Becky and friends amassed during the year to fill the plastic shoe boxes for the kids: school supplies, socks, undies, hand knit hats, gloves, TOYS of all kinds, lip balm, tooth brushes and toothpaste, Hannah Montana goodies, etc. etc, etc. Becky hits sales throughout the year to stockpile treats for this event.

I’ll have tears of joy on Christmas morning just knowing that I played a tiny part in making life better for some kids.

Jackson (age 5) had a hard time packing the boxes today b/c there were so many things he wanted & we kept telling him these were for kids who have very little or even nothing. (He even got sent to his room for a timeout to think about his actions) We kept talking about how we are going to pray that the ones with the gloves get to kids who need them, the ones with the sun hats & flipflops get to the right kids. I kept telling the kids that we pack them, but God helps deliver them. HE knows which box should go to which kid. So….when Jackson & I were praying tonight, he prayed that the boxes would make the kids happy who don’t have very much and that God would “take the boxes to the right kid”….maybe….hopefully….he learned something today.
