This isn’t a bad book at all, but it’s not especially gripping.
Anne Rice is a cradle Catholic and I like how she’s returned to her roots. This book mixes angels, time travel, murder, despair and redemption into a big stew, with its gravy being one-sided conversations with God.
It’s filling, but not especially nourishing.
