The end of the world will start not with a bang – but with a cough.
It’s the ultimate battle of good and evil, and it’s all described in Stephen King’s finest novel. “The Stand” introduces Randall Flagg, a.k.a. “The Walking Man”, who makes appearances in other novels.
I read the regular, edited version several times, and the unedited (25% longer) version once. The unedited book was longer but not better.
For those of you that have read the book and know one of its heroes – Tom Cullen – be advised I secured an autograph of Stephen King near my birthday in 1985, below this inscription: “M-O-O-N, that spells ‘Happy Birthday, Bec.’”
